Welcome Caregiver . . .

You have found a place of stress release, deep relaxation, and insight into how you can thrive in your life as a caregiver.

Hi, I’m Dr. Suzann Osborne, and I’m passionate about helping Caregivers thrive. I have been a single parent caregiver to my special needs child for three decades. While I do have 20 plus years of global business experience in speaking, consulting, & coaching stress release and relaxation strategies to organizations, the business of raising a special needs child and supporting other caregivers has become my focus and my passion.

Here’s why I think I can help. I have navigated the world of caregiving for my disabled child, as a single parent all while earning my Doctorate in organizational leadership and working full time. During that process, I have learned one important fact: The most amazing leaders I have worked with are not in boardrooms, but in the living rooms of the incredible caregivers I have supported! During my own search for ways to relieve stress, relax and nourish myself I explored and trained in specific strategies that are perfect for the caregiving community.

I have received certification as a yoga, and meditation teacher, Positive Psychology Coach, Intuitive Counselor and I am a Certified Caregiving Facilitator.

I am passionate about sharing these strategies to help caregivers reach their full potential: Yes, what a concept. Most caregivers are so focused on serving their loved ones that they forget … This journey is theirs as well.

I understand firsthand the frustration, challenges and profound rewards that being a caregiver can bring. I also know that being a caregiver creates stress, frustration, and burnout. There was a period when my child endured ten surgeries within five years. I was so focused on my child’s needs that I did not realize that my well-being was suffering. I began to feel overwhelmed, experienced insomnia, became easily agitated and became very physically run down.

The experience of caregiving has taught me that to flourish while caregiving you are going to need support. My heartfelt wish is that every caregiver recognizes that within the service they give the opportunity to not only thrive but to feel a sense of deep fulfillment, peace, and happiness is achievable. I learned the hard way that not taking care of myself was not a long-term option. I will be a caregiver for life, so I had to find ways to cope with the inevitable stress that comes with that role but also find ways to flourish.

I have worked with many different types of caregivers. So, let us define what a caregiver is. If you provide help to someone else, who has a need, perhaps your ill partner, aging relative or your disabled child whether you are paid or not for this service, you are a caregiver. Many caregivers provide excellent service in daycare/residential and long-term care facilities; caregiving is their chosen profession.

Others, like myself, had caregiving become a necessity, a role that fell to us that we can either embrace or allow to consume us. I created this website out of a passion for ensuring other caregivers had tools to not only make their journey more comfortable but to make their caregiving a life-changing experience. My goal is to share all the strategies, tips and tools that I have explored and engaged that have utterly changed my life. Whether you are a long-term caregiver like me, caring for a parent or elderly loved one I invite you to join me on this incredible journey that is your life as a caregiver.
